This Thanksgiving before you eat some turkey, put on the Pilgrim Lady Costume. Included in this set is a dress with matching bonnet. The white dress features a Velcro closure behind the collar, black sleeves and a black peplum with white lace trim. At the bottom of the long skirt is a black fabric with white lace accents. The white bonnet is held in place by the ribbon tie around the neck. In colonial times, women dressed modestly. Dresses had long skirts to cover all the legs and the top had long sleeves. This was practical too and would help keep women from burning their limbs while cooking over wood stoves. The bonnets kept the sun out of the eyes and, in stormier weather, protected them from the rain. Shoes and basket are not included.
